When the KManager software is installed, USB drivers for the KPro are install into the KManager directory and registered with Windows. However, if the KPro is plugged in before the KManager software is installed, Windows will not find the USB drivers, Windows will disable the KPro and never prompt you again to install the drivers. In this case we must manually update the USB drivers.

To Check USB Drivers Are Installed Correctly

Connect the KPro to the laptop (you do not need to switch on the vehicle ignition). Start KManager software, and check the USB driver status on the bottom right of the KManager window. It should say 'Driver Installed'.

Plug your Flashpro into your computer with the supplied USB cord. Driver installation may be required. Click on the Flashpro button at the top of the Flashpro manager. This will open up the window to fill out information to register with Hondata.

A second way to check the USB drivers are installed correctly is to open the Windows Device Manager and check the entry for the Hondata K-Series ECU does not have a yellow exclamation next to it.

  1. After selecting Update Driver Software. From the Device Manager you should see the following window. Click on Browse my computer for driver software. Use the Browse button to enter the path to the SManager software installation location.
  2. Write an.inf file that installs Winusb.sys as the function driver for the USB device. Create a signed catalog file for the package. This file is required to install WinUSB on x64 versions of Windows. Attach the USB device to your computer.
  3. Installing USB Drivers (Windows Vista / 7 / 8) Top Previous Next Sometimes Windows will not automatically install the USB drivers, or if the FlashPro has been plugged into the PC before the software is installed, the FlashPro will be disabled by Windows.

Updating / Manually Installing USB Drivers

Windows XP: Press <Windows Key> and <Pause/Break>, or right click on My Computer and select Properties. Then select Hardware and finally Device Manager.

2. In the Device Manager, find the Hondata K-Series ECU entry. It normally is under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, but may appear under Other Devices. You will need to click on the + to the left of Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand the list.

If a yellow exclamation appears next to Hondata K-Series ECU, then the USB drivers need to be manually installed. Proceed to the next step.

3. Update the USB drivers.

Windows XP: Right click in Hondata K-Series ECU and select Update Driver... Follow the instructions for Windows XP

Windows Vista/7/8: Right click in Hondata K-Series ECU and select Update Driver Software... Follow the instructions for Windows Vista / 7 / 8

4. After the drivers are updated, the yellow exclamation mark should disappear from next to Hondata K-Series ECU.
